Lech & the surrounding area

From the Hotel Schwarzwand, the paths to the highlights of nature and culture are short and comfortable. Whether skiers, cross-country skiers, hikers, deep snow enthusiasts or connoisseurs: everyone can experience the winter in Lech in their preferred way: contemplative or challenging. Lech is located in the middle of the breathtaking Arlberg region, which is world-famous as the cradle of skiing. Over 300 km of slopes guarantee a lot of variety. Birgit and Marlène appreciate not only the breathtaking alpine nature, but also the rich cultural offer of Lech.

Skyspace Lech

We like to see the sky with different eyes: the world-famous American artist James Turrell has designed a light room for Lech in which the meeting of heaven and earth in the high alpine landscape can be experienced with a new look. For his skyspace in the high mountains, he chose the "Tannegg" location in Oberlech at an altitude of 1780 metres. There is a hiking trail all year round to the small hill above the mountain station of the Schloßkopfbahn.

With the gondola lift over the Schwarzwand: Whether Langer Zug or White Ring. The path leads from the village center to the Rüfikopf. The fastest descent into the valley is the Direttissima over the Langer Zug to Stubenbach. The world-famous White Ring loop also starts at the mountain station of the Rüfikopf cable car. If you get up early, you ski once around and then come hungry for breakfast.
