The cradle of alpine skiing
Lech is located in the middle of the breathtaking Arlberg region, which is world-famous as the cradle of skiing. Over 300 kilometres of ski pistes guarantee plenty of variety..
Famous ski runs
With the gondola over the Schwarzwand: whether the Langer Zug or the White Ring. The path leads from the town centre to the Rüfikopf. The fastest run into the valley is the Langer Zug, which with an 80% gradient in the upper third, is one of the steepest groomed ski runs in the world.
The world-famous White Ring also starts at the mountain station of the Rüfikopf cable car. If you get up early, you ski once around and then come back for breakfast.

Der Weiße Ring - The Race in Lech Zürs has international cult status. Every year, 1000 ambitious winter sports athletes compete in this thrilling race, every moment of which is closely followed by spectators along the course and at the finish line. Meanwhile, locals and guests listen to the race call as skiers of different age groups compete for a spot on the podium.
World Cup
Lech Zürs offers a wide range of events. After the successful return of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup to the cradle of alpine skiing, Lech Zürs is already entering its fourth round as a venue for races in 2023/24.
Off the slopes
Not everyone who loves winter and exercise outdoors wants to ski. The good news: you will find optimal conditions and an excellent offer for alternative winter sports in Lech Zürs am Arlberg.
Winter hiking
While winter hiking, explore the snowy landscape around Lech Zürs on specially prepared trails: small paths or groomed winter hiking trails lead over steep mountain slopes, through snowy forests, or along the partially frozen Lech river. In between the mountains around Lech Zürs am Arlberg, there is a 40-km well-groomed network of paths for winter hiking at your disposal.
A lot of fun for young and old on the snow-covered and illuminated toboggan run from Oberlech to Lech.

Skyspace
The world-famous American artist James Turrell designed a Lightroom where sky and earth seem to encounter one another from a new point of view in the high alpine landscape of Lech. For the Skyspace-Lech located in the high mountains, James Turrell selected the location “Tannegg” in Oberlech at 1780 meters above sea level. A hiking trail leads to the small hill above the mountain station of the Schlosskopfbahn all year. Additionally, it is also easily accessible from the ski slope.
Kunsthaus Bregenz
Kunsthaus Bregenz is an institute for the presentation of outstanding contemporary art that is active internationally. Thanks to its ambitious exhibition program and its unique architecture, the KUB is also internationally renowned amongst aficionados of both art and architecture. It was designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor on behalf of the Austrian Federal State of Vorarlberg and was constructed between 1990 and 1997. Peter Zumthor won the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture in 1998 for the Kunsthaus. In 2009, he was honored with the Pritzker Prize, the most prestigious award for architects.
Artists are invited to respond to the building's architecture or to even enter into a symbiosis with it. For this reason, a large part of the work on display has been created on site and especially for the institution. Kunsthaus Bregenz's exhibitions and projects enable artists' ideas to become reality.
